ANNOUNCEMENT

At a Club meeting on Tuesday 6^th July 2010, Alnwick and District Motor Club Ltd took the decision to cancel the 2010 Lion Forestry Stages Rally.

This decision was taken after considering the following points

·        The overall state of the roads within the Kidland Forest area. There has been a lot of harvesting of trees during the last few months which has damaged the roads and would take a lot of work to re-instate them to a usable level.

·        Alternative routes within the forest were considered but as this would include Forestry Commission Roads it would mean an substantial increase in the costs which would have to be passed on to the competitor. This increase in entry would reduce the number of entries from previous year’s. Any decrease in entries would render the event unviable.

·        The Club have tried to find another venue for the event but this has not been possible.
