The Tyneside Stages Rally 2009

Alnwick and DMC and BDMC have announced their joint promotion of this year’s Tyneside Stages Rally which will take place on Sunday 28^th June over the narrow asphalt roads of the Otterburn Army Ranges.

Andy Nicholls, Chairman of Alnwick Motor Club, who previously ran the event themselves, explained, there are several benefits to joint promotion.

Already we have found that a new extended team is creating new enthusiasm, stimulating alternative ideas and are producing some very innovative, if not, exciting concepts. That new enthusiasm is contagious and is rejuvenating those members who have been involved for many years and were feeling the pressure of being under-resourced. I thoroughly expect to see us all create an excellent, exciting event and despite the rise in organisational costs, still manage to produce over 70 stage miles for a very competitively priced entry fee.”

Regs are currently under production and are expected out in the very near future. 

On behalf of BDMC, Chairman, Darren Smith stated that the club was excited to be jointly promoting the event with their neighbouring Northumberland club and that it was important that good and popular events continued to take place in the county. We look forward to further development of the event over the coming year.

 The Tyneside Stages has taken place on the infamous fast and undulating army roads, which are situated in the Northumberland National Park for over twenty years and the event is a round of several northern championships.
